The correct police

Oh, my goodness we are the correct police! I went through life for many years just living. Then came cell phones, internet, and text messaging. If we had ways to make mistakes before it seemed minimal. Just use white out or back up the type writer and type over. They called it a type-o. It was no big deal. We fixed it. better yet, we noticed it and rolled our eyes. Mistakes happen.
Then something changed. We could see mistakes on our private phone. We could see mistakes on our private Facebook page. Yes, it was other people’s posts, but they had the Gaul to post a mistake on my page! In the past we noticed their mistakes in their books and their work. Now we see their glaring errors on my stuff. Has it changed us or has it brought our bad behavior to light? What is with the correct police?
I suppose I talked about this last week with my mistakes. Yet, this subject reared its ugly head again. Maybe it’s me? Maybe it’s all of us. Why must some people point out a mistake or a flaw? Taylor Swift writes “you pointed out my flaws again as if I didn’t already see them.” News flash “we all make mistakes.” I know that is extremely shocking to some. It’s downright a lie. Some of you are more than perfect. That gives you the right to be associated with the law abiding completely upstanding correct police.
Certainly, if I get a date wrong or a figure incorrect I should be talked to. I should be vilified and punished. I mean it’s a crime right. Why can’t I just get it right all the time! I must be a stupid idiot. The correct police know everything. They know when your wrong. Do they know when your sleeping. Do they know when your awake. Do they know when you’ve been bad or good so be good for goodness sake. Oh, wait a minute isn’t that Santa? Was he part of the correct police? Oh, my goodness!
What does God have to say. In a way this s down right stupid. Jesus said to pluck the plank from your own eye before you notice the sliver in another’s eye. Some times the Bible is hilarious. Yet, it’s smart too. What is so trivial, God says we treat it as a major issue. We worry so much about others little faults. Yet, we ignore our major problems. Yea, like being with the correct police.
God wants us to love others. To accept others as they are. The other day I joked around in a store with a clearly transsexual person. It was a laugh. He or she was nice. Should I judge? Certainly, this person is going to hell, right? I’m not a big fan of this sexual revolution, yet they are people. They laugh, live, and breathe just as I do. It’s interesting that I see this person as a nice. I don’t ever want to see them as anything else. The correctness police have many fingers to point with. The one finger they never use is the one on themselves. They can’t see nice.
I think social media thing is awesome. I have shared more of my life than ever before. To brag. Maybe, it looks that way. Some have shunned this medium because of the correct police. I chose to live in the correct police world. It’s the net. I get caught in it once in a while. That’s the price I pay for wanting to share my life. These police will continue to nitpick. They will tear down, bash, and vilify many on social media. We gave them a safe way to do just that.
So where does that leave us. At times, it grates on me. It’s hard to take. Family, friends, and strangers belong to the correct police. I feel bad for them. What a shallow existence having to search for people to disgust them. People to judge and rant on. Where is the joy and happiness in life? I had a guy blast me for sorting mail wrong. In the end I found a solution to the problem. He apologized as he walked away. Leaving me dripping in shame and blood. It’s ok, I’ll clean up the mess in your bubble.
