It's in our head

Would you want to look around in someone’s head? I know that people have secrets. There are secret thoughts. Secret desires. We have secret ideas, prejudice, and opinions. What would we see in your head? Do you really need to root around in mine? I mean do you really need to see what I think of you? What I think of others? Yet, these days we use social media like we know what’s going on in the heads of others.
How many say Trump is in idiot? How many say that this politician is stupid or insane. Oh, so we have been in their head? Patrick, it’s their actions that speak. Oh, I see. So, you know better and have a more reasonable solution. It’s easy to throw darts at a dart board. Yet, in the moment we all make poor decisions at times. Still, do we know the intent? Do we know the reasons? Usually we just like throwing darts.
I want to like Trump. I Will admit it’s been strained. Yet, it’s the internet that has formed my opinion. Where are the real facts? The real motives and reasons? The other day a hockey players wife was accused of posting horrible things towards a teammate. When you look at it, the whole thing seems impossible. The words and rants are insane. Yet, there it is. I heard one analyst throw them under the bus. Another, wanted to wait for the truth.
I mention that one because it’s odd. The words seem crazy. The actions seem nuts. What were they thinking? The player got traded because of it. One team said it’s resolved while another says it’s not. What is really going on? If true, someone needs their head examined. If it’s false then do we need our heads examined for believing it. The wait and see attitude is not alive on the net. We just think we know and we automatically post.
What does God have to say? 1 Samuel 16:7 says “But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
I personally like the super hero called The Shadow. He famously says "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!" It’s awesome. Still, do we know? God and The Shadow say they know. This I do know. You don’t know my heart. You don’t know my mind, motives, and ideas. I only tell you what I am willing to share.
In anger once I said the wrong word to my wife. She has reminded me occasionally for 14 years. I Have repeated over and over that the intent was in anger. It’s not my heart. I struggle with myself. My heart and mind think a lot of things. I have secret opinions. Surely those opinions are not politically correct. I secretly want stuff. I judge others. I am probably racist, judgmental, rude, arrogant, and many other nasty things on the inside. You’re not? I have decided to be very honest in life. oh, it’s cost me plenty. Yet, isn’t honesty the best policy. We ask our politicians to be honest. When they are like Trump we want to kill him. Ok, he might be too honest.
Can you train your thoughts? Some say yes and others say know. Either way, we seem to be able to have some control over our actions. Our thoughts, not so much. Twitter proves it. We seem to believe that on social media we can share our mind. All of it. There is the inward and outward self. They are mixed but should not mix on social media. It’s the family fun zone. A place to share and discuss. We should not be left to discussing the sharing of your mind.
Judge me? Rant on people without knowing all there is to know? What were you thinking? I don’t know really. What was I thinking? You don’t really know. Can a word be taken several ways? Yep, welcome to the English language. The better question might be. Why are you angry so easily? Why do you hate so quickly? Maybe if we could pop your lid it would be very interesting. What are you not showing us. Yet, we can see it in the actions you post on others.
