Perspective is everything

There is a time and place to be pessimistic. I suppose starring cancer in the face might induce panic. Maybe being trapped in a fire might be less than optimistic. I get that. There are those who hope to be saved. They dream of a better life. As a matter of fact, they usually dream of bigger things. What is ailing you? What is going well? Good and bad times come and go. A time to panic? Maybe if we reconsidered life, panic is not a word we should know.
If I get into debt, how did I get there? A lifestyle change might be in order to pay things off. Did we do it on purpose or did life throw us a nasty bill. I play the game of life. It’s fun and tough. Perspective is everything. I believe that successful people take life as it comes. They lose it all, gamble it all, and protect it all. They play life like poker. They protect their hand, but play to win. Bills and bonuses are all the same to the successful person.
I have just had the best trip on a cruise. When I booked it there was money to pay for it. On the day we left, some of that money never materialized. My trip is not ruined because time will heal all debts in my mind. It’s not the best but on the cruise it was the very best. I have bills and I do hurt physically from time to time. None of that will ruin the life I have left. I go back to work today after having the best time off. Work will be fun because it’s how I plan the next trip. It’s all about perspective.
On my cruise there were tons of different people on the same ship. It was amazing that so many different colors and cultures could have fun together. Apparently the world can get along as long as a cruise is involved. Each person had a story as to why they made it on that cruise. Some were rich and some were average like me. One person might be dying why others were 8 years old with their parents. One thing this cruise taught me is that no matter what: here we are. Life is about working and playing while having fun. Fun can be helping the poor and sitting in a pool. What do you think?
What does God think about life? Paul in the New Testament goes out of his way to talk about life. He calls it the race. This race is won because we ran it. Paul shy’s away from how we win. There are sections of his writing where he says very bad things happened to him. He says at times he was blessed. In the end Paul says he was blessed through trials and triumphs. All these things happened to him so that he could run the race well. God desires for us to trust and believe in him. To have an extra hand in life isn’t that bad. God wants to help us run the race rather than hinder it.
What is your perspective? The atheist says we are all worm food when we die? That any other way through death is silly. Why does that person need to have an end? Why do they desire to not exist after it’s all over? Where is the dreaming, hope, and desire for more in this race? In a way they never win. The atheist just falls down along the way and never finishes well. I know people want assisted suicide. Should cancer victims that fight for funding quit because it’s useless? They don’t think so even though they are dying or a survivor.

Pink power brings hope for breast cancer. Those women want to live longer. All the charities hope for a brighter future. They don’t just accept their fate and die. Life was meant to be run and lived. Life was meant to be experienced. This is school from birth to the grave. Some say life goes beyond too. What if this life is worth fighting for? What if there was more after mortal death? Is it really that bad to believe in things beyond our dreams? I’d rather be a great delusional dreamer than waiting for the end with no hope of something better.
