Trojan horse of freedom

The other night I was watching a show about time travel. The writers saw fit to add a line observing the difference between 1893 and 2017. The one character asked “what’s different.” The other character replied “It’s not at all what I thought it would be.” I liked the final though by the first character “nobody has.” If polled, would we like society today?
When I was a little boy I would pass, the day climbing trees and digging in the dirt with friends. There was no TV, Play station, or internet. I love my PS4 but I sure do miss playing in dirt. I remember waiting all day to see the Queen pass us by on a highway in Victoria. I loved parades and family get together. Life was a community. We shared life because we shared beliefs. There were individuals but we were a part of everyone. Not anymore.
Today is the rise of the individual. We have our own sexuality, our own beliefs, and our own bubble. My space is just that “my space.” The term “a community raises a child” has been crushed. In its place are gangs, sexual groups, and hate rallies. The other day I noticed in the news that Muslims were holding an islamophobia rally. That day was also violence against women day. They were holding rallies too.
There are a lot of rallies and riots these days. One cause needs to be heard. One belief needs to be protected by law. To be fair, Christianity was protected by laws. Christian beliefs were protected by laws. I find it strange that following a belief system needs laws. I thought freedom of religion was the right to believe what you want. Why the laws? Today they want laws protecting many religions. Even those who oppose another. How is that going to work? Simply put: it won’t.
What does God have to say. I am reading Matthew 10. I found it interesting that God sent his disciples to spread the word about God and his kingdom. It’s interesting that he sent them to spread the news that the kingdom is near. If people did not accept it then move on. There were no laws, rallies, or parades. We were free to accept Gods word or not. There was to be no judgment, no alienation, and no indoctrination. The message was simple. Join because you want to not because you have to.
Throughout history we have had societies push agendas. There was the Roman philosophy. There was the Pharaohs philosophy. Edicts were made several times forcing the people to worship one way. We made Christian laws to ban work on Sundays. I get it but ban? I thought Christianity was free. Bans and laws are not free. Today we are making laws to ban what we think. The phobia crazy is nuts. The rallies are nuts. The parades are nuts. Why? It’s all about time and freedom. We spend a ton of time these days tearing down the past. We spend a ton of time marching our beliefs. Society says we are more free today. Yet, the laws to restrict our freedom of belief and speech are coming fast.
Face book was created to build understanding and friendships. Today it is ruined by silence. The political police are everywhere. So, nobody talks. What individuals believe is being plastered all over the social media. There is no more union, community, and social conscience. We the people has been replaced by I the individual. So here is food for thought.

The Trojan horse is a fun story. A group of people send a gift, but inside that gift is an agenda. In the name of political correctness and freedom of speech is a Trojan horse. Our freedom is being erased one law at a time. The phobia craze means we can’t talk. We can’t discuss. We can’t say anything unless the police approve it. If that is not true, then why have new laws banning phobias. Why create phobias. What history proves is that were a stupid species. When one group or individual gains freedom then one other loses it. Agendas never come in the front door exposed. They always come wrapped in a gift of freedom and national unity.
