For Pete sake

It’s hot out. I get it. Oh, we broke a record temperature in Calgary. It was 36.1. Wow!!! We hit 36.2. Even a bigger wow as we beat 1919 and 1933 (by 0.1). Record global warming in their day too. There was 14 years between those scorching hot traumatic days. I am stunned where still here. I bet the weather is getting warmer and warmer. Wait a minute, it has been 85 years since we torched that record by 0.1 degree.
Ok, maybe it’s an over statement but all day today people posted the warmest day ever. The thermometer was discovered in 1850. So, records only go back 168 years. So, when we say it’s the hottest day ever were really saying in the last 168 years. Of all time? Well that is up to tree rings and glacier lines. I am sure Jesus mentioned Global warming somewhere in the Bible. I bet Galileo made some sort of observation on the horrific weather patterns in his day.
This exaggeration thing is getting to me. I’m slightly old at 52. I have encountered hot summers. I have endured very cold winters too. The two days I delivered mail in -49 don’t seem to be records. Companies are putting a price on the affects of global warming. Those prices hit how much we pay. Governments are taxing people to get a handle on this epic impending disaster. Were getting poorer but I don’t think were winning. Yet, it’s hard to fight a war that might not exist.
This over reaction is killing me. Why not just let people go for it? I’m all for keeping the earth clean. I worry about pollution, over population, and war. I do my part recycling. Global footprint? I don’t know. One movie star said to use one sheet of toilet paper per visit. I am not sure that would work. Another person said if you need a towel after a shower means you used too much water. This generation is insane.
What does God have to say? Jesus said in Matthew 24:6 “And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Yet, there was a group gathering in Edmonton this weekend protesting the round earth theory. They believe the world is flat and the rich want us to believe its round. They also said that we can’t fall off the edge because it’s blocked. Who blocked it? Is gravity real? Will global warming make the world go square?
Jesus was not stupid. He knew the rumors of impending doom would happen over and over. This global heat wave is just another in the long line of weather changes. It’s headlines. It’s naive people that don’t care to know the truth. They love the sensational. They thrive on the tweets and texts. Just think about the number 168 for a minute. How many ice ages have happened before 168 years? How many earthquakes and tsunamis? How many wars, revolutions, hurricanes, and fires? How about meteors striking the earth? Sensationalized means 168 years. Oooh, I’m scared, afraid, frightened, and running for cover.
Here is my thought. What if we break a cold record next year? Big deal? The reason heat works is because it fits the global warming thing. Cold days are bad news for those experts. Plant a tree or build a house for the poor. Should we grow grass or save water? The ultimate conundrum. I listened to a show on feeding the poor. It’s easier to kill off the poor than feed them. Less mouths works. It’s morbid. Yet, we are tossing billions into global warming? Have we conquered the starving world? Uh, no.
History proves we love to parade ourselves. I believe, I know, and these days I certainly have the answer. Yet, year after year we read the headlines and vote in the promises. Yet, have we really gone anywhere? In the French revolution they say the poor revolted and killed the rich. Read your history. The rich didn’t lose. The power just shifted from one rich to another. The poor remained.
Hottest day on record? Bla, bla, bla. The Poor don’t give a rat’s ass do they, should they? Jesus also said we will always have the poor. It appears we will always have the over stated, over blown, and vastly over sensationalized headlines that make someone richer than the day before. Our focus is like guided sheep. Tell them what’s wrong. Take their money and tell them well fix it. Solve world problems? No if it takes money from the rich. So, talk more about global warming as you pass by the homeless you never saw.
